Maybe you have been wondering what is a Harvest Writer, and what are the values of a Harvest Writer. As a writer myself, and as someone who just recently embraced the idea of being a Harvest Writer, I have learned a few core values that help to guide what I write and share.

What is a Harvest Writer?

A Harvest Writer shares their story. Everyone has their own perspective in life. We all have a story that is worthy of being told. Through God’s grace, our stories have the potential to make a positive impact on someone else’s life.

A Harvest Writer uses their gift of writing to help others find healing through God’s Word. We’ve all been through the trenches of life at some point or another. A Harvest Writer recognizes the importance of sharing their testimony of God’s healing in their life. When we find healing through God’s Word, we share this through our writing.

A Harvest Writer shares a message that empowers transformation within their reader. In faith, there is always hope for transformation. We embrace the reality that God can, and He will, transform our hearts and mind. Through our daily circumstances, we choose to believe and write about the power of transformation through the blood of Jesus.

A Harvest Writer unveils the glory of God to the world. We overcome the temptation of fear and apathy that tries to convince us to hide and not be seen, or heard. We are no longer willing to hide in caves, muzzle our voice, or hide our gifts under a rock. We believe in the words that we write and we are looking for daily opportunities to steward the gift God has given us in order to give God glory.

A Harvest Writer endures because they have their eyes fixed on Jesus. Our focus is on Jesus, His ways, His words, and the message that He has placed on our hearts. Our faith pulls us through everything that life would throw at us, and we understand that mountains and trials will come during our journey of becoming a Harvest Writer. However, we are able to endure because our eyes are fixed on Jesus.

A Harvest Writer writes from the overflow of the anointing upon their life. We delight in spending time in the Word and listening to the Holy Spirit. Our words are a reflection of the time we spend in His presence.

A Harvest Writer writes boldly, gracefully, truthfully, and lovingly. We embrace truth and empathy. Harvest Writers understand that not everyone is going to agree with what we have to say. However, we also understand that the grace we give others is the grace we give ourselves in our writing and in our relationships. It is not about making others believe what God has revealed to us in our relationship with Him; instead, it is about being true to what He reveals to us and sharing it through our writing. It is our goal to always write in a way that lines up with God and His Word.

A Harvest Writer writes to set the captives free. The goal of our writing is to bring freedom. Our faith motivates us to magnify the truth about Who God is, and what he is capable and willing to do. Jesus came to set the captives free and our writing will always be a reflection of that truth.

A Harvest Writer daily joins in the joyful gathering of the Holy Trinity within their lives. In Hebrews 12:22 it talks about joining together at Mount Zion in a joyful gathering. This means we enter into the presence of God on a daily basis. We do this through prayer, worship, and declaring God’s Word over our life and our writing.

A Harvest Writer sows seeds of righteousness. We are the righteousness of Christ. In this, we share the righteousness of Christ through our writing and our daily living and walking in faith. If you are a follower of Jesus, then you too are a Harvest Writer with the ability to sow seeds of righteousness everywhere that you go!

As a follower of Jesus, you are a Harvest Writer.

We have been called to let our light shine for Christ, sow seeds, and be workers that are available to collect the mighty Harvest. I think the greatest thing that disqualifies us from being a Harvest Writer is not writing at all.

At Harvest Writers, we are intentional at creating a space where everyone within the body of Christ has a place to share their story.
